Federal Laws Challenge Newnan Pharmacy's Medical Marijuana Dispensing Efforts

The DEA's warning to Georgia pharmacies, including Lee-King Pharmacy in Newnan, against dispensing medical marijuana, has highlighted the conflict between state and federal laws. Georgia's initiative to allow pharmacies to sell medical marijuana is facing federal scrutiny due to the DEA's stance that THC remains illegal under federal law. The situation is further complicated by a congressional budget rider and a pending rescheduling review by the HHS, which recommended classifying marijuana as a Schedule III controlled substance. The future of Georgia's medical marijuana program remains uncertain amidst these regulatory challenges. Via Marijuana Moment

New Leads Emerge in Decade-Old Cold Case of Newnan Ga Teen Blake Chappell

Over a decade ago, in Newnan, Georgia, a tragic mystery unfolded with the death of 17-year-old Blake Chappell. After vanishing on October 16, 2011, following his attendance at a homecoming dance at East Coweta High School, Chappell's life came to a tragic end. His body was discovered two months later, on December 18, in a creek, clad only in his underwear, with an autopsy confirming a fatal gunshot wound to the head.

The Newnan Police Department, relentlessly seeking answers, recently disclosed new developments in this cold case. An anonymous individual, who communicated with the police through two separate letters over the years, has become a focal point in the investigation. Detective Marc Gonzalez from the Newnan Police Department expressed a strong belief that the same person authored both letters, potentially holding crucial information to unravel the case.

The police's appeal for more information extends to the public, urging anyone with knowledge to step forward. Chappell's mother, Melissa, remains hopeful that the anonymous tipster will ultimately choose to reveal their identity, aiding in bringing justice to her son. The Newnan Police Department encourages the anonymous informant to reach out again, emphasizing their eagerness to examine any further details provided.
