Coweta County Mourns the Loss of Deputy Sheriff Eric Minix in Line of Duty

The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office has announced with deep regret the passing of Deputy Sheriff Eric Minix, who died in the line of duty on January 4, 2024. The tragic incident occurred following a vehicle pursuit that extended into Alabama. During the suspect's apprehension, Deputy Minix was accidentally struck by a police car, leading to fatal injuries. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. Deputy Minix, remembered not only as a dedicated Deputy and K-9 Officer but also as a beloved friend, leaves behind a wife and three daughters. His untimely death marks a significant loss for the community and the Sheriff’s Office.

Honoring Kilo: Coweta County's Fundraiser for Injured K-9 Officer

The Coweta County Sheriff's Office has initiated a fundraiser to support K-9 officer Kilo, who was shot in the line of duty on August 6, 2023. Kilo has since fully recovered and resumed his duties. To aid in covering Kilo's medical expenses, the Sheriff's Office is selling "CCSO K-9 Challenge Coins" for $25 each. These coins are available for purchase and all proceeds will be directed towards Kilo's medical costs. Buyers can pick up the coins at the Sheriff's Office or opt for shipping with an additional $5 charge​​.
