Newnan Kids Read for a Roaring Reward: Free Tickets to Jurassic World Live
Young readers in Newnan are in for a treat, as the Coweta Public Library System joins the Atlanta area libraries in a thrilling reading program. This unique initiative offers free tickets to the "Jurassic World Live Tour" for kids who complete the reading challenge.
The program, in partnership with the Jurassic World Live Tour, encourages children to immerse themselves in the world of books. Once they've read five books, they earn a complimentary ticket to the live show, which will be staged at the Gas South Arena in Duluth in February. However, an adult must accompany the young dinosaur enthusiasts, meaning the purchase of an adult ticket is necessary.
The reading program is straightforward: participating children pick up a Jurassic World Live Tour Reward Club Card from their local library, read five books, and then claim their free ticket. This program is a great way to combine education and entertainment, promoting reading among young audiences while offering an exciting reward.
The Jurassic World Live Tour promises an adventure-filled experience, bringing to life the magic of the prehistoric world. The show features life-like dinosaurs, including the fearsome Indominus rex, creating a thrilling atmosphere akin to visiting Isla Nublar.

Taco Time: Capital Tacos Brings Its Tex-Mex Flavors to Newnan
Capital Tacos, a Florida-based Tex-Mex chain, is set to open its third Georgia location in the Newnan Promenade shopping center. The new outlet will occupy a 2,500-square-foot space that has been vacant since May 2022. This expansion is part of the brand's plan to establish three corporate-owned locations in Georgia, with the first two already operating in Peachtree Corners and Johns Creek.
The co-founder of Capital Tacos, Josh Luger, mentioned the chain has received numerous requests from Atlanta residents over the years, eager for the brand to expand closer to them. This marks Capital Tacos' renewed attempt to penetrate the Atlanta market, following a previous venture with CloudKitchens, a virtual restaurant company focused on delivery.
Capital Tacos, which first opened in Florida in 2013, is nationally recognized for its Tex-Mex cuisine. The menu features a variety of tacos, such as Cauliflower Dreamin, South Beach Hot Chicken, and Chapel’s Cheesesteak, along with other favorites like quesadillas, nachos, and fries.
Newnan Handyman Arrested for Burglarizing Former Client's Home
In Newnan, Georgia, a shocking incident unfolded when a local handyman, identified as Anthony Chase, was arrested for breaking into and damaging the home of a former client. Chase, who previously worked for the homeowners on College Street from November 2022 to March 2023, was involved in an alarming situation on January 8.
The Newnan Police Department responded to a burglary call at the residence where Chase used to work. Upon arrival, they discovered a shattered window in the front door and encountered Chase inside the house, along with the homeowners. The homeowners, who were upstairs at the time, heard a loud noise and discovered Chase on the premises, holding a bottle of wine.

Chase claimed he was being chased and needed help, but the homeowners instructed him to leave. The police, who arrived shortly after, found Chase with the wine bottle and promptly took him into custody. During the investigation, the homeowners revealed that their business relationship with Chase had soured due to a dispute over payment for his services.
The damage to the property, particularly the front door, was estimated at approximately $1,500. Chase, now in custody, faces charges of burglary and criminal damage to property. This incident marks a disturbing turn for a handyman who had previously worked with the homeowners through the Coweta County work release program.
